ITINÉRAIRE

I. Sonneur [5 minutes]
  • Define the following terms in English:
    1) subject
    2) verb
    3) object
    4) pronoun
    5) object pronoun

II. Les pronoms objets directs [60 minutes]
  • Aujourd'hui we will learn about les pronoms objets directs in English and then in French.
  • Mme Probst will give a quick overview of direct object pronouns in English; you may follow along on this site.
    > You will begin your Cornell notes on direct object pronouns at this point.
  • We will now begin an activity in which we break apart a sentence in English in order to identify how to replace direct objects with direct object pronouns.
    Le premier rond:
    1) You will be assigned to a group, and each group will be assigned to a set of sentences somewhere around the room.
    2) As a class, we will define the following terms:
    > le sujet
    > le verbe
    > l'objet
    3) Now, in your group, you will use the puzzle sticky note to identify le sujet de vos phrases; we will go over the answers as a class, and you will rotate to the set of sentences to your right.
    4) Now, at your new location, use the light yellow sticky notes to identify le verbe de vos phrases; we will review, then rotate.
    5) Finally, you will use the dark yellow sticky notes to identify l'objet de vos phrases; we will review, then move on to round 2.
    6) Now, using the pink object pronouns in the baggy next to your station, replace the object of each of your phrases with the appropriate object pronoun. Think about how you would say this in English.
  • Return to your seats and take notes from this video. Mme Probst will go over the video and make any points of clarification as necessary.
  • Here is a flow chart to make the process a little easier.
  • Le deuxième rond:
    1) You will be split into new groups in locations around the room. As a group, you will use the black words in the baggy hanging next to one of your sentences to re-create the sentence in French.
    2) You will, once again, identify le sujet, le verbe, et l'objet de votre phrase; we will review this as a class.
    3) Finally, you will come up to the front board and choose the correct pronom objet to replace the objet in your group's sentence; we will review and then return to our seats.
  • Now, you will practice what you learned with on Conjuguemos.com with the activity titled U2.2: Les pronoms objets directs.

III. Projet: L'agent de voyages [20 minutes]
  • Aujourd'hui you will begin on your first project for notre unité des voyages.

  • Demain, je vous montrerai (will show) comment faire le blog.
