  • Go to Google Classroom and open the activity U3.1: Les Sondages.
  • Work to complete the surveys. Remember to rely on your notes, vocabulary, and the pictures to determine what the question is asking. Don't use a translator, it won't help your learning!
  • Get through as many of the surveys as you can!

II. Avoir [40 minutes]
  • Next, use this video to take notes on the verb avoir on page 63 of your Cahier Interactif.
  • Make sure to answer the following questions in your notes:
    • Why is avoir a special verb?
    • What are the conjugations of avoir?
    • What are the two ways that avoir is used? Give an example of each.
  • Then, after watching the video, go to the Google Classroom assignment U3.1: Lire: Frankenpierre and complete the activity. You will need to use your notes on avoir in order to complete it.

III. Les Activités au Choix [30 minutes]
  • If you finish the assignments early, you may work on your Activités au Choix.
  • Remember: your activities are due next Friday, November 9.

  • Turn to page 60 of your Cahier Interactif.
  • Find a partner at the other side of the room and start your two-minute interview. Continue interviewing until the whole time is up; restart if necessary.
  • Then, find anothe partner and start again.

II. Le Vocabulaire [10 minutes]
  • You have five minutes to study the next set of vocabulary.
  • Write these terms on page 61 of your Cahier Interactif.
  • You will have a quiz on these terms tomorrow.
III. Parler: Mes Cours [30 minutes]
  • Today we will do a speaking activity called an "info-gap."
  • You will complete the activity using the information on your sheet to answer the questions that your partner asks with the information on your completed chart.
  • Then, you will switch roles and ask your partner questions to get the information that is missing from your chart.
  • Finally, complete the question at the bottom using the information have collected and the vocabulary from this unit.

IV. Projet: Benchmark 1
[30 minutes]
  • You will have the rest of class to work on Benchmark 1. 
  • Make sure that you pick your 10 questions and give the possible options to complete your survey by tomorrow at the beginning of class.
  • You will need to ATTACH your survey to the Benchmark 1 document BEFORE CLASS BEGINS so that we can take the surveys during class.

  • Finally, practice with a partner at your table.

II. La Négation [30 minutes]
  • First, turn to page 57 of your Cahier Interactif. We will review the negative in French.
  • Next, we will review  with a game of Quizlet Live.

III. Projet: Benchmark 1 [30 minutes]
  • Today we will begin working on this unit's project.
  • First, go to Google Classroom and open the activity U3.1: Projet: Comment survivre au lycée. With your group, review the project requirements and brainstorm the things that we already know and the things that we will need to learn on page 59. We will review quickly as a class.
  • Today, you will begin to work on Benchmark 1. You should have all of your questions written by the beginning of class on Wednesday. You need 50 responses by the beginning of class on Thursday.

  • Go to Google Classroom and complete the activity U1.3: La Négation.  You will find it under Classwork, then under La Grammaire.
  • This will be a grammar/vocabulary grade in the next quarter, so be sure to complete it accurately. 
  • Use your notes from last night on page 57!

II. Écouter: Voici mon école [30 minutes]
  • Go to Google Classroom and complete the activity U1.3: Écouter: Voici mon école. You will find this under Classwork, then under "Unité 3.1: L'École." 
  • First, be sure to familiarize yourself with the vocabulary, it is important for the activity.
  • Then, open the Google Form and watch the video. The first time you watch, just listen.
  • The second time you watch, try to answer the questions. You can stop, rewind, fast forward, but DO NOT slow it down and DO NOT put on subtitles. The subtitles for this video are really, truly bad and will not be helpful.
  • The third time you watch, double-check your answers.
  • You can complete this assignment two times; you will receive the better of the two scores.

III. Activités au Choix [30 minutes]
  • After you have finished your assignments, you may work on your Activités au Choix.
  • Remember: your assignments are due on November 9!

  • First, we will listen to the song. Follow along with the lyrics and mark the words that you recognize from our vocabulary or that look like cognates.
  • Compare with your group. We will go over it as a class.
  • Then, with your group, look at all the lyrics and identify where you see words in bold and in italics. These words are the negative form. Try to come up with the rules for how you make a verb negative.
  • After coming up with the rules, try to determine what these words mean:

  • Using the tape provided, post your poster to the closest wall.
  • Then, we will do a silent gallery walk. As you walk around, up-vote (with a check mark) the aspects of the class that you would share with somebody if you were to try to encourage them to take the class. Mark one thing on each paper!
    Ex: Madame G est petite, gentille, et intelligente.

  • We will review the information as a class.

  • Pull out a sheet of paper and title it "Semaine 9."

  • Skip lines in your composition.
  • When you have finished, make sure that you have your name and number in the top-right corner and put it in your personal box (make sure it's your box for your class 2nd or 4th block).
  • Here are the questions that you should answer in your composition:

  • Your group will be assigned one of four infographics:
    Tables 1 & 5: Infographie 1
    Tables 2 & 6: Infographie 2
    Tables 3 & 7: Infographie 3
    Tables 4, 8, & 9: Infographie 4
  • Your group will be the experts on these infographics, so be sure to answer all of the vocabulary and all of the questions.
  • After your group has finished going through the infographie part of the assignment, go to the Padlet below and add the necessary information according to your role in your group. At the top of your post, be sure to note which Infographie you studied.
    Archiviste: pick the top 5 vocabulary terms; give the term and the definition.
    Orateur: Give a 1-sentence summary of the information in your infographie in English.
    Chronométreur: Identify one interesting/important fact that you learned from the infographie.
    Fournisseur: Come up with one question that you would like answered that is related to the topic of your infographie.
