III. Projet: Benchmark 2 [50 minutes]
  • Today you will work on Benchmark 2. 
  • Go to Google Classroom and open the activity U4.1: Projet: Benchmark 2.
  • You can access the survey results on the Benchmark 1 assignment.
  • First, be sure to write your description on paper and then get it checked by Madame Probst.
  • Then, add your pin to the map. 
  • Make sure that everybody has a pin, even if there were not enough survey results- make one up!

    • For each location, give a picture.

II. Révision: Les Questions [20 minutes]
  • First, at your table, compare your notes and identify the answers to the following questions on page 70 of your Cahier Interactif.
    • ​How do you use "est-ce que" to ask a question?
    • When using "est-ce que," what do you do if your subject starts with a vowel?
    • How do you use "inversion" to ask a question?
    • When using inversion, what do you do when your verb ends in a vowel and your subject starts with one?
  • We will review the notes as a class.
  • Be sure to also add this information: 
    • In order to use a question word with either "est-ce que" or inversion, you will add the question word before "est-ce que" or the inverted subject and verb.
      Ex: Est-ce qu'il arrive? Is he arriving?
      Quand est-ce qu'il arrive? When is he arriving?
      Arrive-t-il? Is he arriving?
      Quand arrive-t-il? When is he arriving?
  • Next, we will play a Kahoot to practice.

III. Révision: Aller et Le Futur Proche [20 minutes]
  • ​Next, we will review aller and le futur proche. Compare your notes on page 72 of your Cahier Interactif and identify the answers to the following questions:​
    • ​What are the conjugations of "aller?"
    • What do each of the conjugations mean?
    • What does the futur proche translate to in English?
    • What are the two parts of le futur proche?
  • Next, we will review the notes as a class.
  • Finally, we will play Quizlet Live to practice with le futur proche.

IV. Les Verbes Irréguliers [30 minutes]
  • Finally, we will add our last few irregular verbs to the verb foldable: faire, and aller.
  • If you finish early, practice the irregular and regular conjugations on this list.
  • Then, we will play a round of the dice game to practice their conjugations.​

  • Take notes on the verb "to go" (aller) and the close future (le futur proche) from the video below on page 72 of your Cahier Interactif.
  • Be sure to answer the following questions in your notes:
    • ​What are the conjugations of "aller?"
    • What do each of the conjugations mean?
    • What does the futur proche translate to in English?
    • What are the two parts of le futur proche?

III. Écrire: Les Loisirs [45 minutes]
  • Today we will review the activity that we did with leveling-up sentences.
  • First, we will review the notes from what you wrote in class yesterday. Madame will discuss some of the most common mistakes:
    • ​missing articles (A)
    • spelling (S)
    • conjugations (C)
    • missing subjects (S)
    • adjective/article agreement (#/G)
  • Then, you will have 35 minutes to correct your work on the front of the paper and complete the back side of the assignment. 
  • When you are done, turn in the assignment to the DONNER box. You can work on something productive while you wait.

IV. Les Loisirs dans la Ville [30 minutes]
  • Today you will explore different French-speaking cities and the different things you can do when you travel there. 
  • Each group will be assigned a different city. Work together to complete your city's chart using the video and the website given.
  • Then, as a group, you will pick the best thing to see/do in your city and add it to this Padlet. 
  • Structure your post like this:
    Title: name of your city
    Description: Give a brief description of the location, what you can do there, and why you believe it will be the best place to visit.
    Add a photo that illustrates the activity that you chose.

  • Then, as a class, we will review the information and you will rate how much you would like to visit the location (1-5 stars) based on the description and photo. Be prepared to give a reason, because Madame Probst will call on people to share.

  1. Qu'est-ce que tu fais souvent?
  2. Qu'est-ce que tu fais de temps en temps (from time to time)?
  3. Qu'est-ce que tu ne fais jamais? 

II. Le Vocabulaire [10 minutes]
  • You have 5 minutes to copy down and study the next set of vocabulary on to page 68 of your Cahier Interactif.
  • You will have a quiz on these terms tomorrow.
III. Les Phrases Complexes [60 minutes]
  • Today we will work on leveling-up our sentences and making them more complex.
  • Helpful vocabulary/information for this activity can be found on pages 16, 22, 33, 37, 57,  and 68.
  • Then, after doing it together, you will finish the back of the paper with your own answers.
  • Then, we will work together to write more complex sentences then go over them as a class.
    1. Pull out a sheet of paper and write a simple sentence following the structure that you see on the level-up framework paper.
    2. Crumple up the paper and throw it across the room. Once all of them have been thrown, find a new paper.
    3. Open up the paper and make the sentence more complex by: 
      Round 1: answering in affirmative and expanding with a counterpoint.
      Round 2: answering for yourself, then bringing in another person
      Round 3: answering the question and then adding more relevant, related material
    4. Then, throw it across the room again and find a new paper. Read that paper and decide if you want to share your sentence with the class (on the TV).
    5. For each round Madame Probst will ask for volunteers to share the phrase that they last picked up. Copy this down in the column to the right.
