I. Sonneur [10 minutes]
  • You have 10 minutes to make sure that you have turned in all parts of your project and prepare your food truck.
    • Display your truck on your table.
    • Make sure that your menu is accessible.

II. Le Rassemblement de Camion-Restaurant [40 minutes]
  • For the rally, your group will be split; two will sell and two will buy each round for two rounds. Decide who will do what for the first round.
  • While you are buying:
    • Walk around to the different food trucks and order food IN FRENCH!
    • Madame Probst will be listening for you talking. You will get one point for speaking French and lose two for speaking English. You are seeking to earn at least five points.

  • Here are some helpful links for you to complete this activity.

    • When you have finished, turn in your paper to the substitute with your name and number in the top-right corner.​

II. Révision: Les Adjectifs/La Négation [50 minutes]
  • Using your notes and the information on the grammar links below, complete the worksheet "Révision: Les Adjectifs/La Négation."
  • If you need information about adjectives, you can find them  at the links and Cahier Interactif pages listed here: 
    • Descriptive Adjectives (p. 36-37)
    • Possessive Adjectives (p. 40-41)
  • When you have finished, turn in your paper to the substitute with your name and number in the top-right corner.​ Madame Probst will check it and then return it to you so that you can have it in your notebook for reference when we review this information in French 2.

III. Duolingo/ Free Rice [10 minutes]
  • If you finished everything early, you can work on Duolingo or FreeRice.
  • If you have not yet signed up for FreeRice, go to www.freerice.com.
    • Create a Free Rice account using your school email.
    • Usernames should be the base of your school email, with numbers added to the end as necessary. 
    • Join the AFHS Group. This is how the school will track donations.
      • Group Code: BD524WMP for the group titled “AFHS Patriots:))”
    • You can change the topic to French by selecting the lined menu in the top-left corner and then changing the category.

PROGRAMME

I. Projet: Benchmark 2: La Carte [30 minutes]
  • You have the first 30 minutes of class to finish up your group's menu. 
  • You will use this in the next activity, so be sure to get it done!

II. Projet: Benchmark 3: Séminaire d'Employés [60 minutes]
  • Today we will have an employee training seminar. 
  • You can find these directions on the activity U5.1: Projet: Benchmark 3 if necessary.
    1. Cut up your vocabulary and put it in a sensible order for a conversation between a server and a customer. Add what you need to on the blanks. 
    2. Get your conversation approved by Madame Probst, then paste/tape the parts onto page 110/111 of your Cahier Interactif.
    3. Practice this interaction with a partner at your table using your own menu.
    4. Then, you will be split up around the room. Bring your computer and pull up your group's menu. 
    5. You will have two minutes with each person, for at least five rounds. During these two minutes, go through your conversation as many times as you can. Take turns playing the role of server and client. Practice changing up the vocabulary!
    6. As you have your conversation, Madame Probst will walk around and grade your interactions. It's very important that you speak French the whole time, otherwise you will lose points!
  • Finally, reflect on the following on page 109:
    1. What was the easiest part of this interaction? 
    2. What was the hardest part of this interaction? 
    3. What do you need to practice more before the final assessment? 
  • If you finish early, you can work on refining your group's menu if still need to do so.

I. Projet: Benchmark 1: Interview [45 minutes]
  • First, you will have 10 minutes to finish writing the questions for your Benchmark 1 interview, which you will attach to page 106 of your Cahier Interactif.
  • Then, we will do five rounds of interviews. The interviews will be in a round-robin style. 
    • Madame Probst will pass out cards. If you have a red card, you will be in the outside circle. If you have a black card, you will be in the inside circle. 
    • We will move to the center of the classroom and create two large circles. 
    • For each round of three minutes, you will ask your partner the questions and mark his/her responses in the table.
    • While you are interviewing, Madame Probst will walk around to listen to verify that you are asking five questions in French, only three of which are yes/no. 
  • Then, return to your table and go to the Google Classroom activity U5.1: Projet: Benchmark 1. 
    • As a group, compare your responses and then have one person complete the Google Form to submit your information about your food truck.

II. Projet: Benchmark 2: La Carte [45 minutes]
  • Go to the Google Classroom assignment U5.1: Projet: Benchmark 2: La Carte.
    • ​As a group, review the requirements and develop one clarifying question.
    • We will review as a class.
  • Then, you will have the rest of class to work on your menu. You will have an additional 30 minutes in class tomorrow.

  • First, with your group, use the review at the top to answer the questions below it.

    • You will not have access to your computers, so​ YOU MAY NOT USE WORDREFERENCE.
  • Be sure to follow the same structure as the given review, but use your own information.
  • When you have finished, turn in your paper and collect the next activity.

  • First, we will review the unit's vocabulary with a game of Quizlet Live.
  • Then, we will play a game called "Circonlocuation."
    • Out of the bag of terms, separate the food terms.
    • Then, turn the terms over so that you cannot see them.
    • One at a time, pull a term and try to describe the food ONLY USING FRENCH. Here is some helpful vocabulary.
    • Whoever guesses gets the term and you move on to the next person. Whoever wins the most at your table wins candy!

II. Le Verbe Boire [10 minutes]
  • Today we will learn our next irregular verb: boire, which means "to drink."
  • Add the present-tense conjugations of boire to the "Les Verbes Irréguliers" page of your dépliant géant.

III. Projet: Le Camion-Restaurant [50 minutes]
  • Today we will start this unit's project.
  • First, with your group review the project overview on the Google Classroom assignment U5.1: Projet: Le Camion-Restaurant.
    • ​With your group, look at what you will need to do in the project and develop one question for clarification.
  • Next, we will look at Benchmark 1, an interview. ​Go to the Google Classroom assignment U5.1: Projet: Benchmark 1: Interview.
    • Review it with your group and develop one question for clarification.
  • Then, we will review how to ask questions with the notes on page 86 of your Cahier Interactif.
  • You will have the rest of class today and about 20 minutes tomorrow to write your five questions.  Remember:
