Each day, the class itinerary will be posted on this blog page. We will use this in class and you can use it to keep up when you are out of class or you missed important information. There are many other resources on this site as well, so you should check them out!

DEVOIRS: (homework) 
  1. Bring your computer or other device to class starting TOMORROW.
  2. Complete the Student Questionnaire on Google Classroom or at this link.
  3. Watch the syllabus video on Google Classroom and bring in your signed syllabus form along with your permission slip by Thursday
  4. Bring in a 100 page (200 sheet) notebook for your Cahier Interactif by Wednesday

ITINÉRAIRE

​I. Sonneur [10 minutes]
  • Each day we will start out with a bellringer, or "Sonneur." 
  • Each week, you will use one page of your Cahier Interactif to keep track of this week's Sonneurs. Make sure to write the question as well as your complete answer.
  • You will have five minutes at the beginning of class to do your Sonneur before we review.
  • You can write today's Sonneur on a blank sheet of notebook paper:
  1. Why did you choose to take French?
  2. What is one thing you are excited to learn about in this class? 

II. Le Syllabus [15 minutes]
  • We will not be reviewing the syllabus in class, instead you will watch a video syllabus (6 minutes) for homework and answer questions along the way.
  • You can find the assignment on Google Classroom. To access it, join Google Classroom using your Wake County Google account.
  • To join our class, go to the + at the top-right corner and type in the class code:
    2nd Period: 87axg
    4th Period: xawgamc
  • If you are having trouble, we will figure it out during our assigned STAR lunch this week.
  • The assignment it titled "French 1 Syllabus Video." Watch it by Thursday and return the signed syllabus form by Friday.

III. Les Ordres de la Salle de Classe [30 minutes]
  • Each group will be given 1-2 classroom commands. You can find the list of commands along with their definitions and pronunciation at this link.
  • It is your group's responsibility to draw a picture defining your assigned commands, and write the appropriate spelling along with a phonetic spelling (sound it out). Ex: hello: heh-low.
  • Then, you will present this to the class and we will attach an action to the command.
  • Next, we will play a game called Entendre-Dire.
  • We will begin with group 1 who will say their command, hold up their sign, and the class will act it out. Then, using the key below, according to the Entendre we will start with the next Dire.

IV. Apprendre une langue? Pourquoi? [30 minutes]
  • For our first unit, we will focus on the importance of language learning and cultural tolerance.
  • We will begin by watching a video showing the nine reasons to learn another language. You can find the lesson at this link.
  • As you watch, reflect on the questions on the sheet Mme Probst passes out.
